I hope to retire in 5-6 years.
I picked up a good book recently How to Retire Happy, Wild, and Free, by Ernie Zelinski which has been out for a few years. I like the book a lot. Good advice and fairly humorous. Much of it is about having a positive outlook, which I think I have. The author has another book, The Joy of Not Working: A Book for the Retired, Unemployed and Overworked, which I have but just started recently.
Another book which I picked up has to do with Social Security, Get What's Yours: The Secrets to Maxing Out Your Social Security, by Laurence Kotlikoff. For a small book, it seems to have some good, thorough and up-to-date information.
All 3 of these books were picked up in the "Money" section of my local Barnes & Noble bookstore.
Are there any other books that people can recommend?
Tom; I was able to pick this book up at my local library. I enjoyed it very much. I have been retired going on four years. Books was a good chance to update my brain on my retirement goals. Thanks for the review.
Chip, Glad you liked it.
The best book I have ever read on retirement was a Nolo book titled, "Get A Life', You don't need a million to retire well. It was very insightful.
