    Helping yourself by helping others


      Winter is over and I'm overweight and out of shape. The Susan Komen Race for the Cure in Columbus, OH is just a little more than 2 weeks away and I need to be in shape to run the 5K by then. I decided coming into this week to push myself away from the table and begin exercising more vigorously on the bike path. I've regularly walked 3 miles throughout the winter but have stepped it up to running about half that as I prepare to run the entire distance. Based on my exercise plan I should ready by the 16th. Quite honestly, it feels good to be able to get myself in better physical condition, knowing that others are benefiting from it as well. Anybody else using some sort of crutch or incentive  as a stimulus to get yourself into shape this spring?
