Yesterday my sister turned 65. I remember the day my parents brought her home. There were already three young boys. I was the oldest and was age five, not yet started school at Saxapahaw Elementary. Now my sister calls almost every day, sometimes twice a single day. I did not talk with her the fifth, her birthday. When she called a short while ago I asked "Did you have a happy birthday." Like our father before he died in 1988 at age 62, my oldest (of five) sister is unable to form her thoughts into speech. She wants to know if I am Ok and if my spouse is Ok and she tells me (usually) "I'm Ok" - the time before today she confided "I'm not doing too good."
