    O F F - the educational television network


      1950-1962 twelve years of public school I had the distinct advantage of no television (ever) in the home. As far as Brady Bunch, that is an entire doughnut hole, since 1969-1975 consisted of (1) alternative service - nurse's aide in a psychiatric hospital (research unit) twenty-four months; (2) fatherhood (only time) in Charlottesville for a few months; (3) life in a "commune" of sorts, leading up to (4) move from New York City to Essex County, NJ, where our son started 4-year-old class in the nursery school (having attended a whole year the 3-year-old class in the church tower at Park Avenue and 64th Street. The television that has taught me the most is "OFF"
