    Health Insurance for Retirees Abroad

Considering retiring abroad, and wondering what my health insurance options would be.  I know a lot depends on the country you retire to, but if you want coverage through an international or U.S.-based insurer, what are your options?  If anyone has experience with a good insurance co. or broker that addresses this situation, would be interested in hearing about it. Thanks.

Switzerland has mandatory health insurance requirements for everyone. I spent three months appealing a decision that our US based health insurance was not equivalent to the minumum required policy because it did not provide post-abortion care. The Swiss option was $1700/mo for my wife and I. My advice is to research this issue carefully.
