    CASA volunteer advocates for children

Hello, all.  Another volunteer opportunity, for those interested in helping abused/neglected children in the foster care system,
is CASA [Court Appointed Special Advocates].  Advocate volunteers speak on behalf of abused and neglected children during
court proceedings.  They are there solely in the interests of the child and do not represent any agency which might have an overriding interest or agenda.  The website for CASA is:

      Best wishes,

I was a CASA volunteer for more than 10 years including working as our local Rochester, NY chapter Board Chair. It is a tremendous and intense volunteer experience where you can really make a difference in a child's life. Trying to negotiate Family Court is difficult in the best of circumstances and these kids are really often out there without someone who is really ontheir side. If you really want to make a difference this is an organization for you.
