Seniors who recall sitting by their radios when they were younger likely agree with a recent RUSC.com poll that named the Jack Benny Program as the best-ever radio series to grace the airwaves.
Nearly 10% of the more than 1,800 nominations for best radio show of all-time were for "The Jack Benny Program."
Ned Norris of RUSC.com noted that anyone who has any familiarity with the long-running series probably isn't surprised by American's decision.
"His popularity seems to have lived on through successive generations," said Norris. "It seems good entertainment will survive even with the radical changes in broadcasting and technology that we've seen over the last few decades."
Other all-time favorite radio shows included "Gunsmoke," "Johnny Dollar," "The Shadow" and "Fibber McGee."
