When it comes to navigating the transition from one life stage to another, thereʼs value in finding a mentor who has successfully made it to the other side, as Kathleen Jones notes in her recent post.
For example, Vaune Peck, the director of a university arts center and a TIAA customer is optimistic about retirement, looking forward to creating art of her own. She credits mentors for helping her along the way, including one who went through retirement planning himself.
She has also met with TIAA financial consultants to help her better understand investing. But what if you havenʼt been lucky enough to find a “retirement mentor” of your own yet? Or you want direction on how to get ready for a meeting with an advisor? Hereʼs a great place to start.
